Feedback
Giving consistent feedback on your design can greatly impact using the Peak-End Rule. This rule tells us that people remember the first and last parts of their experience more than anything else. Not really equal but similar to an AI context window and the "Lost in the Middle" problem.
Here’s what to do:
- Spotlight Key Moments: find parts of your design that stand out or could be special moments for users, like finishing a big step or buying something.
- Make Feedback Stand Out: use these moments to give users a fun or positive response. This could be a cool animation, a sound, or a visual pat on the back. You want to make a moment they’ll remember.
- Finish Strong: ensure the last thing users see or do in your app leaves them feeling good. A simple “thanks” or “well done” can make a big difference in how they remember the experience.
- Connect Emotionally: use the Peak-End Rule to inform and make users feel something special. This can turn ordinary steps into experiences users care about and remember.
